A trustworthy event taxonomy is a team agreement

Why naming conventions alone are not enough to keep workplace analytics dependable.

An event taxonomy is often treated as a technical dictionary. In practice, it is an agreement between the people who create data and the people who use it. Every definition needs a business meaning, an implementation rule and an accountable owner.

Write definitions around observable state changes. Specify when an event must fire, when it must not, which properties are required and how failures are surfaced. Include examples of edge cases, because duplicate bookings, offline actions and administrator overrides are where ambiguity usually appears.

Review the agreement whenever a workflow changes. A short, regular governance check costs far less than rebuilding trust after two teams discover they have been reporting different versions of the same behaviour.
